BuzzBox™ targets foraging behavior, the activity of worker bees searching for food and water. BuzzBox™ intercepts sugar-foraging honey bees and disrupts the recruitment loop that escalates foraging activity near human spaces. BuzzBox™ breaks the recruitment cycle that normally escalates bee activity. The result is a significant reduction in nuisance bees around human spaces, creating safer, more comfortable environments while minimizing harm to pollinators.

It all begins with an established colony, whether wild or managed. From there, bees send out foragers to search for food and water to sustain the colony.

When resources are plentiful, the colony grows quickly, producing new bees and eventually a new queen. At this stage, when colony population and conditions build reproductive pressure, part of the colony leaves as a reproductive honey bee swarm to find a new home, with part of the colony leaving to establish a new home.

During swarming, scout bees are sent out to search for suitable nesting sites.
